1. Who we are

Mauvy. ("we", "us") is a private confession & mood diary app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Mauvy. mobile app and the mauvy.me website. For any questions, contact us at hello@mauvy.me.

2. The short version

Your diary is yours. Confessions (audio, video, text) and mood entries are private by design. We do not sell your personal data, we do not show your content to other users, and there is no public feed.

3. Information we collect

Content you create: audio and video confessions, text notes and mood entries. This content is stored privately and is not shared with other users.

Account information: if you create an account, we collect your email address to let you sign in and recover your data.

Waitlist email: if you join the waitlist on mauvy.me, we store the email address you provide, solely to notify you about the app launch.

Technical data: basic device information, crash reports and anonymized usage statistics that help us keep the app working and improve it.

4. Biometric lock (Face ID / fingerprint)

Mauvy. can use your device's biometric authentication (such as Face ID or fingerprint) to lock the app. Biometric verification happens entirely on your device through the operating system. We never receive, store or have access to your biometric data.

5. How we use your information

To provide the app's features (saving confessions, tracking moods, syncing your diary).

To secure your account and your content.

To notify you about the launch if you joined the waitlist.

To fix bugs and improve the app through aggregated, anonymized analytics.

6. What we never do

We never sell your personal data.

We never show your confessions or moods to other users.

We never use the content of your diary for advertising.

7. Data storage & security

Your content is stored securely and encrypted in transit. Access to your diary requires your account credentials and, if enabled, your device's biometric lock. We apply industry-standard safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access.

8. Data retention & deletion

You can delete individual entries at any time from within the app. You can request deletion of your entire account and all associated data by contacting hello@mauvy.me; we will process the request within 30 days. Waitlist emails are deleted once they are no longer needed for launch communications, or upon request.

9. Children and teens

Mauvy. is designed for teenagers and young adults. The app is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child under the applicable age has provided us personal data, contact us at hello@mauvy.me and we will delete it.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@mauvy.me.

11. Third-party services

We use a small number of service providers (such as cloud hosting and crash reporting) strictly to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated in the app.
